Passenger2 gets a major overhaul with Version 2 release

Passenger2, the passenger simulation add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has just been updated to Version 2, which introduces a series of new features and improvements based on extensive user feedback and suggestions.

According to a statement from the developer, the most noticeable change in Version 2 is the complete redesign of the user interface. The new layout prioritizes readability and ease of navigation, allowing both newcomers and experienced users to access features more intuitively. This redesign extends to the flight monitor, which now features enhanced seat map graphics for a more immersive visual experience.

Individual passenger profiles and simulation

The introduction of individual passenger profiles and vitals is a big change in the new version of Passenger2. This feature brings a new level of personalization to each flight, simulating unique passenger needs and reactions. The passenger simulation now includes interactive seat selection, real-time catering stock management, and a passenger reaction system that provides live feedback notifications.

Expanded airline management features

Version 2 expands the depth of airline management with the introduction of a new hangar area. Users can now lease and purchase aircraft, adding a layer of fleet management to the simulation. This is complemented by new aircraft maintenance and upgrade options, as well as the introduction of a used aircraft market.

Overhauled flight planning and in-flight systems

The flight setup process has also been overhauled, offering users greater flexibility in airport selection and flight planning. The update introduces dynamic cargo adjustment for weight and balance, adding another layer of realism to pre-flight preparations. Additionally, the new version now supports four configurable cabin classes, allowing for more diverse and realistic flight configurations.

In-flight systems have seen significant changes too. The catering system has been reworked to provide more realistic stock management, while new in-flight announcements enhance the auditory experience.

Graphics and realism enhancements

Graphics have received a substantial upgrade, with enhanced visuals for crew, passengers, and aircraft interiors. The developers have also implemented crash and turbulence detection, further increasing the sense of realism during flights.

Two editions to cater to different user needs

Passenger2 is now offering two distinct editions for new customers: LITE and PRO. The LITE edition is aimed to casual users who prefer a streamlined ‘load and go’ experience, while the PRO edition provides an immersive, full-featured experience for those seeking maximum control and realism.

Passenger2 Version 2 is now available for download on the official website. Notably, existing users can update their software to Version 2 without needing to repurchase the product, a move that is always welcome. For new users, Passenger2 LITE is available for purchase at $21.99, while the PRO version will set you back $37.99.
