ST Simulations has released their latest project, EHBK Maastricht-Aachen Airport, for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Published in collaboration with Aerosoft, this release brings to MSFS simmers an important cargo hub in the heart of Europe.
The development team has been working on this project full-time since February, using reference photos taken by Roy van Kan and with permission from Maastricht-Aachen Airport authorities, and now see their efforts come to fruition.
Maastricht Aachen Airport serves the Limburg region of the Netherlands and is strategically located close to both Maastricht and Aachen, Germany. Established in 1944 by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, it initially functioned as a military airfield before transitioning to civilian use.
Today, it’s a significant cargo hub in the Netherlands, handling a diverse array of goods from perishables to automotive parts. The airport’s single 2,750-meter runway accommodates a wide range of aircraft, facilitating its role in both passenger and cargo operations.
Additionally, Maastricht Aachen Airport is home to the Eurocontrol Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC), which manages air traffic control for the upper airspace over the Benelux countries and northern Germany. Maastricht is perhaps best known for the Treaty of Maastricht, which was signed in 1992 and led to the formation of the European Union and the introduction of the Euro.

- Custom CGL aerial
- Custom static aircraft
- Custom hangars, airport buildings and offices
- Custom lighting models
- Custom taxiway signs
- Custom ground vehicles
- Highly detailed, reflective textures using Physically Based Rendering (PBR)
- Realistic runway and taxiway markings
- A lot of custom objects, models and details for the environment
