FeelThere has returned with a new airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and this time, it’s Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). Commonly referred to as Sea-Tac, KSEA is the primary airport serving Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, and is a significant hub for both Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines. For virtual pilots, this release offers an exciting opportunity to experience one of the busiest airports in the United States!
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is indeed a major aviation gateway for the Pacific Northwest, supporting over 1,100 daily departures. With three parallel north-to-south runways, it ranks as the third busiest airport on the U.S. West Coast in terms of aircraft movements, following Los Angeles International (KLAX) and Las Vegas McCarran (KLAS).
Serving as a hub for 31 airlines, Sea-Tac connects passengers to 91 domestic and 28 international destinations, spanning North America, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and the Middle East. The airport’s nickname, “Jet City,” is a signal to Seattle’s rich aviation history and its connection to the Boeing Company.
The airport features 115 gates spread across four concourses and two satellite terminals, with a unique underground train system, the SEA Underground, that connects them. With its size, traffic volume, and complex layout, KSEA offers a very intricate experience for MSFS simmers with both commercial and cargo operations and a mix of domestic and international routes.
It’s with this background that FeelThere’s rendition of KSEA for Microsoft Flight Simulator must be considered. Here are the highlights according to the developer:
- Highly detailed buildings with PBR texturing
- Terminal interiors modelled
- Complete modelled ground polygon including realistic decals, dirt, taxi lines and surfaces
- Custom animated jetways unique for KSEA
- Animated Link light rail rapid transit system
- Airline parking codes and modified airport services
- Updated AFCAD, parking spots, taxiway names and taxi signs
- Improved taxiway and runway lighting, including custom approach lighting
- Custom modelled clutter and unique objects placed throughout the airport
- Improved night lighting and apron lamps
- Asobo KSEA Airport must be disabled to avoid scenery conflict including duplicated buildings
FeelThere has priced KSEA at $14.99, but there is currently a 10% discount, bringing the price down to $13.49 for a limited time as part of the launch promotion.
