easyJet announces official partnership with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

If you’re fond of easyJet and have spent any time in Microsoft Flight Simulator, chances are you’ve tried to replicate a real-world flight with the colors of the popular low-cost airliner and probably with a third-party livery. And while those community-made mods are great, they often come with a question: “Is this technically legal?” Well, you can now stop wondering because easyJet has partnered with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to bring its iconic orange-and-white branding to the platform.

This collaboration means players can now fly easyJet liveries on compatible aircraft in MSFS 2024, with routes across Europe and beyond. But there’s a bit of fine print here, and if you’re familiar with the simulator’s aircraft roster, you might already be raising an eyebrow.

A curious fleet list

According to the announcement, the easyJet fleet available in the sim includes the Airbus A319, A320, A320neo, and A321neo. However, if you’ve been keeping up with MSFS 2024, you’ll know that only the A320neo and A321neo are part of the simulator’s default aircraft lineup. The A319 and A320, while staples of easyJet’s real-world operations, are nowhere to be found in that list.

What does this mean? Most likely, this partnership is focused on licensing rather than aircraft additions. Microsoft has previously announced efforts to secure agreements with airlines to display their branding officially, and this easyJet collaboration fits that strategy perfectly. So, while you won’t find a first-party A319 in the simulator (apart from Fenix’s excellent rendition), you can fly easyJet’s colors on the existing A320neo and A321neo and see the airline represented on AI traffic as well.

Celebrating the partnership

To mark the occasion, easyJet and Xbox UK are running a competition on Instagram (@easyJet and @xboxuk) from December 10–13, giving fans the chance to win prizes.
