Aeroplane Heaven has revealed its newest project for Microsoft Flight Simulator with a brief post — “We seem to have a mosquito problem” — and a handful of work-in-progress screenshots. That’s all it took to confirm what many had hoped: the developer is bringing the legendary de Havilland Mosquito to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
This news comes only days after Aeroplane Heaven officially announced the North American B-25J Mitchell, which means the studio now has at least two iconic World War II bombers in development simultaneously. Aeroplane Heaven seems determined to populate MSFS with an extensive collection of historic heavy iron!
The screenshots already give away quite a bit. We see detailed interior modeling, with worn textures, period-correct equipment, and a distinct mix of utilitarian green panels, exposed wiring, and chunky mechanical fittings. There’s also a glimpse of the exterior fuselage, landing gear, and crew stations, all carrying a “work in progress” tag.
The Mosquito was one of the most versatile aircraft of the Second World War. It served as a fast bomber, night fighter, reconnaissance aircraft, and even a pathfinder for heavy bomber raids.
For now, details remain scarce. Aeroplane Heaven hasn’t disclosed which Mosquito marks are planned, or how far along development is. The screenshots suggest that the modeling phase is well underway, but systems depth, flight dynamics, and additional features remain under wraps.
