Navigraph expands VFR coverage with Jeppesen Europe charts and FAA helicopter sectionals

Just over a week after introducing Europe-wide Rogers VFR charts, Navigraph has announced another major expansion of its visual flight chart offering. This latest update adds Jeppesen VFR charts for airports across Europe and introduces FAA Helicopter Sectional Charts for major metropolitan areas in the United States.

Together, the two recent releases continue to expand Navigraph’s support for VFR operations, addressing both enroute planning at a continental level and detailed airport and helicopter-specific navigation.

Jeppesen VFR charts arrive for Europe

The new Jeppesen VFR dataset brings 4,822 charts covering 2,032 European airports and airfields into Navigraph Charts. According to Navigraph, 1,390 of these locations previously had no VFR chart coverage within the platform.

Unlike the recently released Rogers Data layer, which focuses on a unified ICAO-style enroute map for Europe, the Jeppesen charts provide airport-level VFR information. These charts include circuit layouts, reporting points, ground references, and other local details commonly used during visual operations.

The Jeppesen VFR charts should complement the Rogers VFR very well. Simmers can plan cross-border VFR routes using the Rogers Europe-wide map, then reference Jeppesen charts for arrivals, departures, and local procedures at individual aerodromes. The charts are accessible through the Charts tab by filtering for VFR content.

Helicopter sectionals added for the United States

Alongside the European update, Navigraph has also added FAA Helicopter Sectional Charts for the United States. These charts are made for helicopter operations in complex and high-density airspace, particularly around large cities.

The helicopter sectionals include features specific to rotorcraft flying, such as helicopter routes, altitude recommendations, and airspace detail suited to low-level operations. Navigraph says these charts can be enabled through the Map Presets menu by selecting FAA Helicopter Sectionals.

This marks the first time helicopter-specific FAA sectionals have been available inside Navigraph Charts.

One platform, multiple VFR layers

With the addition of Jeppesen VFR Europe charts and FAA Helicopter Sectionals, Navigraph now offers several distinct VFR chart layers within the same interface. These sit alongside the recently introduced Rogers Data ICAO map for Europe and existing FAA VFR products for the United States.

All new charts are available to Navigraph Unlimited subscribers at no additional cost and can be used across desktop, browser, and tablet versions of Navigraph Charts. Navigraph also confirms that the expanded VFR data is available to third-party developers through the Navigraph Charts API.
