SayIntentions introduces Click-to-Talk for mic-free ATC and teases new ‘Traffic+’ system

For many flight simmers, the biggest hurdle to using advanced ATC networks isn’t the cost or the software installation. It is “mic fright.” The anxiety of stumbling over phraseology or the simple logistical issue of flying in a quiet house at 2 AM has kept many pilots on default ATC. SayIntentions.AI is looking to close that gap with its latest update by introducing a new way to communicate that requires no speaking at all.

Along with this new feature, the developer has detailed a roadmap for a new traffic injection system that will aim to fill the “data black holes” of the world and introduced a new mid-tier subscription option.

Removing the voice barrier

The headline feature in this week’s update is “Click-to-Talk.” While SayIntentions has built its reputation on natural language voice recognition, the developer says this new feature is made for moments when using a microphone isn’t practical.

This is a big shift in accessibility for the service. Previously, users had to be comfortable speaking to the AI. Now, the software presents context-aware responses on the screen. The pilot clicks the desired response and the system handles the transmission.

The developer frames this not just as a convenience feature for late-night flying but as a training tool. By seeing the correct phraseology written out before “transmitting,” newer pilots can learn the rhythm of radio communications without the pressure of a live mic.

Currently, this feature is in “Preview” and is limited to users in the Partner program (accessible through a one time payment after subscribing to the service), though the developer indicates they are evaluating it for wider release.

Filling the fkies with Traffic+

While FSLTL and other traffic injectors rely heavily on real-world ADS-B data, they all suffer from the same limitation: if the real-world transponder isn’t on, the sim sky is empty. This is particularly noticeable in regions like parts of South America or Africa where tracking coverage is spotty.

SayIntentions has teased a new system called “Traffic+” to address this. According to the developer, this system acts as a hybrid layer. It can run exclusively with synthetic traffic or, perhaps more interestingly, layer itself on top of real-world data to fill in the gaps.

This idea targets a specific immersion breaker where users flying into major hubs might see bustling traffic, only to find themselves in a ghost town once they cross into regions with poor real-world data coverage. The developer claims this system will respect airline routes and aircraft types, ensuring that the synthetic traffic remains believable.

A new “flying season” subscription

SayIntentions has also introduced a 6-month subscription plan. This sits between the monthly option and the annual commitment.

For the developers of SayIntentions, this is a logical step for the flight simulation market. Many users tend to fly heavily during the winter months and less during the summer. A six-month option allows users to commit to a “season” of flying without locking into a full year, offering a middle ground in terms of pricing.
