We last covered Aerosoft’s Stuttgart Airport back in December, when the scenery was essentially finished but held up by a satellite imagery issue on Asobo’s side. That wait is now over. At FSWeekend 2026, Aerosoft confirmed that Stuttgart Airport (EDDS) releases this Monday, March 23, and released a full trailer showing the finished product. The scenery is built exclusively for MSFS 2024.
The trailer, developed by Aviation Lads, gives a thorough look at what to expect. Terminal buildings, jetways, and ground service equipment are modelled in detail across all four terminals. The scenery is headed by developers Jo Erlend Sund and Lukas Vezyroglou, the same duo behind Aerosoft’s Dusseldorf Airport. The product features a custom terrain mesh, individual runway profiles, high-resolution textures, specialised night lighting effects, custom taxiway signage, and full Aerosoft and GSX VDGS integration with specific GSX profiles.
One of the standout features visible in the trailer is the use of MSFS 2024’s avatar mode for terminal exploration. Large portions of the terminal interior are fully walkable, including functioning elevators that travel between floors, check-in desks, flight information displays, and passenger waiting areas. The viewing terrace is also accessible, giving a ground-level perspective across the apron.
Nearby landmarks including the Bosch Parkhaus and the Stuttgart TV Tower are modelled in the surrounding environment. It all looks mighty impressive and we may be looking at a new airport benchmark in the sim. Jo Erlend and Lukas truly are some of the most talented creators in this space!
The Stuttgart Airfields companion pack
The more unexpected part of this release is a companion pack called Stuttgart Airfields, priced separately at €9.99 or bundled with the airport for €29.99. It covers six general aviation and glider airfields within roughly 10 to 15 minutes flying distance of Stuttgart, each recreated with individual character.
The six are EDTQ Pattonville, home to the DRF Luftrettung helicopter base, ED41 Deckenpfronn with grass runways and glider operations, EDZT Esslingen-Jägerhaus on a scenic wooded plateau with seasonal variation including snow, EDSV Wächtersberg featuring winch-launched glider operations, EDSG Grabenstetten, and EDST Hahnweide, the largest of the six with multiple hangars and a restaurant area. The airfields trailer shows a strong variety of environments and operations, from ultralights and gliders to light GA and helicopter activity.
The developers explained the rationale: since they were already in the Stuttgart area for the main airport photography, visiting the surrounding airfields was a natural extension. Having the airport as a base gives GA pilots a genuine network of destinations to explore in the region.
Stuttgart Airport releases Monday March 23 from the Aerosoft store at €22.49. The Stuttgart Airfields pack is €9.99, and the bundle is €29.99.
