Carenado brings the King Air B200 to MSFS 2020

Carenado launched the King Air B200 for MSFS 2024 back in March, followed by a round of post-launch updates that showed some solid ongoing support for the title. Now, the B200 is making its way to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, giving the still-large community on the older platform a chance to add this twin-engine turboprop to their hangars.

The Beechcraft King Air B200 is one of those aircraft that needs little introduction. It’s been a staple of corporate travel, medevac operations, and regional missions for decades, and Carenado has a long history with the type going back to their FSX and P3D days. This MSFS 2020 version, according to the developer, preserves the aircraft’s cockpit character, external lines, and flight dynamics while adapting the experience for the earlier platform.

On the avionics side, Carenado says the B200 for MSFS 2020 comes equipped with Collins systems, a Garmin GNS 530, GTN 750 compatibility, and an integrated audio panel. Navigation system selection, along with the option to toggle winglets on or off, is handled through the tablet-style interface that featured in the MSFS 2024 release. The package also includes multiple liveries and what the developer describes as realistic high-quality digital sounds and authentic flight dynamics.

It’s worth noting that, unlike the MSFS 2024 version which launched with Career mode compatibility for VIP Charter and Medevac missions, the 2020 version is naturally without that feature given the platform difference. But for simmers still on MSFS 2020 who want a capable, well-regarded turboprop with a pressurized cabin and a cockpit that leans on the analog side, the B200 is a solid option. And it’s a gorgeous airplane!

The B200 for MSFS 2020 is priced at $24.99 USD and is available now.

By the way, if you’re a fan of Carenado’s catalogue in general, it’s worth knowing that Carenado is one of the partners of the Captain’s Club, our membership programme here at msfsaddons.com. Every month, three members are randomly selected to win a free aircraft from Carenado’s webstore. This particular B200, being a Marketplace release, isn’t currently in the giveaway pool, but there’s plenty more in their store catalogue that is. Membership starts at $3.99/month or $39.99/year.
