Navigraph has revealed a new initiative set to bring structured pilot training to the flight simulation community. Called Navigraph Academy, the program is set to introduce a virtual “Private Pilot License” (PPL) course by early 2025, supporting virtual aviators in mastering the principles of aviation with professional-grade instruction.
Navigraph Academy promises a rigorous, methodically structured course based on real-life flight training standards, an approach the company believes will take simulation training to new heights. Learning to fly in a modern flight simulator is now possible thanks to platforms such as MSFS, but achieving the skill level akin to real-world piloting requires comprehensive training—a gap Navigraph Academy is hoping to fill.
This virtual PPL course offers more than just theoretical knowledge; it aims to instill practical skills that simmers can apply directly within their preferred simulation platforms, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator.
According to an official product page now live on Navigraph’s website, course instruction will be led by a team of real-world pilots—Jason, Martin, and Andy—who bring decades of combined aviation experience to the virtual classroom. Their goal is to convey fundamental flight dynamics, from aerodynamics to aircraft systems, in a way that makes advanced concepts accessible to users at any level, from newcomers to seasoned enthusiasts.
Alongside the curriculum, Navigraph Academy will offer an e-learning platform that will support simmers on their journey.
Navigraph has not yet specified the exact cost of enrollment for the academy, though interested users can sign up on Navigraph’s website to stay informed on pricing and release details.
