Parallel 42 outlines MSFS 2024 compatibility roadmap

With the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, many third-party developers are navigating the task of updating their products for the new platform. Parallel 42, whose wide collection of creative and innovative add-ons have enriched the experience for many simmers in MSFS 2020, has provided a detailed roadmap that sheds light on their approach to the transition.

Parallel 42’s roadmap introduces a straightforward and cost-effective system for updates. Products released within one year of MSFS 2024’s launch on November 19, 2024, will receive free updates to fully embrace the simulator’s capabilities. For older products, a modest $2 upgrade fee will apply to bring them to “2024 Native” standards, which sounds reasonable given the development effort required.

The developer has made it clear that no timelines will be provided for these updates. Instead, users are encouraged to monitor the 2024 Compatibility Dashboard, which tracks the status of each product as it progresses through the update process. Updates will roll out in phases, starting with utilities, followed by vehicles, and finally scenery.
