XWind Studios is out with a new airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, this time in the north of Europe. After offering us the opportunity to fly to highly detailed airports in the United States and New Zealand, the developer has now released Kristiansund Kvernberget Airport (ENKB), in Norway. This scenic airport is an important hub for the area, accommodating both local and international travelers eager to explore the stunning landscapes of Norway.
Kristiansund Airport is the only airport with scheduled services in the Nordmøre region. It features a single 2,390-meter runway and caters to both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, servicing routes to major Norwegian cities and offshore oil platforms. Its strategic significance is enhanced by its role in supporting the regional oil industry, providing critical access for both passenger travel and logistical support.
XWind, in collaboration with Jakub Łukaszewski, has now released an impressively detailed rendition of this airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The scenery stands out for its detailed rendering of the landside areas, featuring authentic models of the airport’s infrastructure, and for the very detailed texturing all over the area and immersive night lighting.
The product description ensures that every aspect of the airport, from the custom ground textures to the dynamic night lighting, is crafted to reflect the true spirit of the location. It also promises to be an accurate portrayal of the airport with an up-to-date layout, custom taxiway signs, and location-appropriate static aircraft.
The add-on also includes a GSX Profile for enhanced ground service operations and a detailed elevation model for the entire island, ensuring that the geographic nuances of Kristiansand are well represented. Such attention to detail not only improves visual fidelity but also adds to the enjoyment of flying in this absolutely stunning part of Norway!
XWind’s Kristiansund Kvernberget Airport (ENKB) is available now for around €15.00 from iniBuilds and simMarket.
